Remembering Mike McFarlane
The London Landmark Half Marathon 2026
In April 2026, I’ll be taking on the huge challenge of running the London Landmarks Half Marathon in memory of two incredible men in my life my dad, Mike McFarlane and my grandad Henry McFarlane both of whom sadly passed away due to complications linked to diabetes.
This run isn’t just about crossing a finish line. It’s about honouring their lives, raising awareness, and supporting a cause that hits close to home. Diabetes has deeply affected my family, and through this challenge, I want to help others fighting this battle and support research and care that can make a real difference.
Thank you so much in advance for donating whatever you can your support genuinely means the world and will go a long way in helping others and keeping their memory alive.
UK DIABETES HALF MARATHON
I’m running in support of a UK diabetes charity that’s doing vital work to raise awareness, fund research, and support those living with diabetes across the country. This cause is deeply personal to me Type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune condition where the body attacks insulin-producing cells in the pancreas, meaning insulin must be taken daily to survive. It often appears in childhood or adolescence and isn’t linked to lifestyle. Through this run, I’m not only honouring loved ones affected by diabetes, but also helping push forward progress in treatment, support, and ultimately, a cure
